9 tips on how to get more Restful Sleep

Do you struggle to fall asleep? Are you tossing and turning throughout the night? Check out these tips below for 9 ideas on how you can get more restful sleep.

  1. Try PlantPeople WonderCalm gummies. These were a part of the giveaway basket we had at the Portland Holiday Market. These gummies don’t have CBD, but they use other natural sources like ashwagandha to help you rest. They really work!

  2. Take a few sips of tart cherry juice before heading to bed. Best paired with protein of some kind so it won’t spike your blood sugar.

  3. Put your phone away for at least an hour before heading to bed. No doomscrolling.

  4. Try the Moon Juice Magnesi-Om Magnesium Powder Supplement - Chelated Magnesium Complex + L-Theanine Blend for Rest, Relaxation & Regularity. This is a great drink blend to take before bed to help you calm down.

  5. Once the sun goes down, don’t turn on the overhead light. Instead use candles, salt lamps, or warm colored light bulbs instead of harsh LED lights.

  6. Use blue light blocking glasses that are tinted red when you’re on your phone, tablet, laptop, or television in the evening. The blue light blocking glasses without any tint in them are not as effective as the ones with a red/orange tint.

  7. Take an Epsom salt bath with lavender and chamomile.

  8. Read a physical book for at least 7 minutes before heading to bed. Use a red light or amber colored book light instead of the harsh overhead lights to light the pages.

  9. Get out an hour after sunrise and get light in your naked eyes (no contacts or glasses). The sunrise signals to our body clock the time of day. This works even in cloudy Oregon. This helps set your body clock. It is also helpful to get the sunset light in your naked eyes.
